Albert Town Campground is popular with summer holiday makers and ideally placed for day trips to Mt Aspiring National Park and the Queenstown/Arrowtown regions.
Albert Town is well serviced by a supermarket, eateries and a pub. There are plenty of bike tracks and hiking trails right on our doorstep just waiting to be explored, including the popular Deans Bank Track and Roys Peak. You can also enjoy a spot of fly fishing right at the campsite.

10 minutes from Wānaka
There is a vast network of walking trails around Albert Town and Wānaka. Stand out trails include the Diamond Lake Track, Clutha Track, Mt Iron and Roy's Peak Hike.
You'll find fantastic fly-fishing right at the campsite. Or head to Hook in Wānaka and catch a Chinook salmon from their spring-fed fishing lakes.
Just 35 minutes from our Albert Town Campground, you'll find two world-class ski resorts - Cardrona Ski Field and Treble Cone.
The Deans Bank mountain bike track is right on our doorstep, and the more challenging trails of Sticky Forest just a short ride away.
Get an adrenaline rush skydiving over Wānaka and the stunning Southern Alps, or head to Wildwire and climb the world’s highest waterfall cable climb.
Kayaking or paddleboarding on Lake Wānaka is one of the best Wānaka activities. If you want to get the adrenaline pumping, consider a jet boat ride on the Clutha River.

The Clutha side of our campground has flushable toilets. If staying on the Hawea side, you will have access to long drop toilets.
No. Safe drinking water is not provided at Albert Town Campground. Campers must bring their own drinking water.
No. There are no shower facilities at Albert Town Campground.
No. Albert Town Campground does not provide any cooking or food preparation facilities. Campers must bring their own cooking equipment and ensure it is used safely and in accordance with any local fire restrictions.
No. Campers will need to make their own arrangements off-site if laundry services are required.

No. There is no power supply or site lighting.
The Clutha side campground has basic facilities including flushable toilets, non-potable running water and a rubbish skip. The Hawea camping ground has long drop toilets and no running water.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the campground. They must be on a lead at all times and not left unaccompanied.
Clutha River side: No bookings are taken here. Minimum age 21 years unless staying with parent or legal guardian on their site. One parent/legal guardian per every four youths. No glass bottles or spirits allowed on site. No motorised off-road bikes in the camping area. Wristbands to be worn at all times.
Hawea River side: No bookings are taken here. This side is for FAMILY GROUPS only. No motorised off-road bikes in the camping area. Wristbands to be worn at all times. No visitors’ cars on site but to be parked in the designated areas.
